Surroundings of the pension

Near our pension, you can find many opportunities for active holidays. You can spend your holidays actively enjoying various sports activities or visit many cultural and historical places, castles, medieval towns etc.

In summer, you can cool off in the nearby swimming lake Osika with clear water. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country ski runs around our pension or ski at the nearby ski and snowboard resort Hradiště. All year round, you can enjoy romantic walks and hiking trails in the surrounding forests and countryside. Cyclists can enjoy marked cycling paths off the main roads with minimum traffic, suitable for family cycling trips with children. If the weather is good, you can go mushroom picking (because of the proximity of state borders, do not forget your compass).

30 m from Penzion Osika you can find steam train stop "Albeř". If you have never travelled by a steam train, you can hop on one of its regular rides along the last narrow-gauge railway in the Czech Republic. 30 m from Penzion Osika you can find "Bobas" Restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. You can rent here sports equipment or beach volleyball court and spend some active time here. For more information, visit here.

100 m from Penzion Osika you can find swimming lake Osika with sand beaches. Lake Osika was founded in the 16th century by monks from the nearby monastery. The lake is 68 ha large and at its maximum is five meters deep. The lake is famous for its clear water, which it maintains throughout the whole season. Lake Osika is surrounded by sandy beaches, suitable for children. On Lake Osika, you can enjoy windsurfing, pedal boat ride, canoes, etc. All sports equipment can be rented at boat rental on the beach.

100 m from Penzion Osika you can find Chateau Terezienthall, built at the beginning of the 19th century. It is famous for its character and architecture. You can read more about it here (only in Czech).

1,5 km from Penzion Osika you can visit Monastery with the Church of the Holy Trinity. The Monastery was built by monks from the Pauline Order in the 16th century. The Pauline monks were supposed to find a place with three healing springs; they found the right place right here. Read about one of the legends here.

3 km from Penzion Osika you can visit town Nová Bystřice. In the town, you can find 13th-century castle, a plague column, Jewish cemetery, museum of American vintage cars or a microbrewery. Visit the official website for up to date tourist information and leisure time, link here.

5 km from Penzion Osika you can visit one of the best golf courses in the Czech Republic called Golfresort Monachus. Two golf courses offer activities for all categories of golfers, both public and golf club members. More information can be found here.

8 km from Penzion Osika is located Landštejn Castle. The history of the Landštejn Castle begins in the 13th century with Moravian margraves. Landštejn Castle guarded part of the border between the Czech and Austrian land. As part of your tour, you can learn more about life in a medieval castle. Those interested in modern military history can go on a trek in the forests surrounding Landštějn Castle to visit fully equipped second world war bunker Klášter II from 1938. More information on the Czech military objects and bunkers can be found here (only in Czech).

7 km from Penzion Osika you can visit a small historic town of Slavonice, which is sometimes nicknamed "Little Telč" or "Pearl of the West Moravian Renaissance". Near Slavonice is located village Maříž with a famous ceramic workshop, where you can paint your mug. More information here (only in Czech).

19 km from Penzion Osika you can visit Jindřichův Hradec. You can enjoy visiting a romantic castle or medieval Renaissance townhouses. A large part of the town is formed by the Vajgar Lake, whose shore is ideal for walks and relaxation. For more information, visit here. Jindřichův Hradec is also a gastronomic center of this area with number of restaurants and cafes.

38 km from Penzion Osika you can visit historic town Telč. This town is well known for its historic town square, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The dominant of the town is Renaissance castle with authentic interiors, uniquely preserved medieval townhouses on the Zachariáš of Hradec square or synagogue with Jewish cemetery. 41 km from Penzion Osika you can visit Červená Lhota State Castle. It is the most famous water castle in the Czech Republic. You can enjoy a visit to an authentically furnished romantic chateau located in the middle of the lake, rent a boat or stroll through the English park. This castle is popular among filmmakers, many Czech movies for children were filmed here. For tourist information, visit here.
